Isleton Museum
This building was constructed in 1926, after a fire destroyed all the buildings on Main Street. It was purchased by the San Francisco Bing Kong Tong in 1934 and occupied by the Isleton branch of the Tong. The 1st floor was used for a Chinese Language School. Students came here following a day in public school. The 2nd floor was where the Isleton BKT met. Services they provided were: assistance for Chinese residents, worship, a playground, and a place for community meetings. In 1994, the property was deeded over to the newly formed Isleton Brannan-Andrus Historical Society. During the past 27 years, they have arranged for its renovation while maintaining a temporary museum. We wish to express our gratitude to the many members of the IBAHS members who have donated their time and energy to produce this valuable educational resource for Isleton.
